Planning an outdoor movie night in West Texas
Summer evenings here stay light late, so plan your start time around real darkness rather than the clock. A projected picture does not read well until dusk has fully settled, which in June and July usually means closer to 9:00 PM than 8:00. For an earlier party with young kids, plan the movie as the wind-down at the end rather than the main attraction.
Pick a spot with a flat surface for seating and a wall of the yard that blocks the wind. West Texas breeze is the one thing that will fight a screen, so a fence line, the side of the house, or a garage opening all make good backdrops. You will also need a standard outlet within reach of the setup area.
Seating is worth thinking through: blankets and pillows work for kids, but adults tend to want chairs. Our folding chairs pair well with a movie night, and a few cocktail tables along the back give people a place to set drinks without blocking anyone's view.
What a foam party actually involves
The foam cannon covers roughly a 30 ft by 30 ft area and can stack foam up to about 4 feet deep, so it needs open ground and a way for water to drain. Grass is ideal. Give yourself room around the edges for a dry zone where towels, shoes, and phones can live.
You will need a water source and a standard electrical outlet within reach. Tell guests ahead of time to come in swimsuits or clothes that can get soaked, and plan for towels and a change of clothes, because everyone in range will end up wet.
Foam pairs naturally with a waterslide, and we price it lower when you book the two together. That combination is our most popular setup for summer birthdays and end-of-school parties.
