When the 16-foot screen is the right call

This is the large-format option, built for crowds rather than a handful of kids. If you are hosting a school event, a church movie night, a graduation party, or a neighborhood get-together where thirty or more people need to see the picture clearly, the 16-foot screen is the one you want. For a backyard birthday with a dozen guests, our 9-ft screen is usually plenty and costs less.

Give the screen a clear sight line and set your seating back far enough that people are not craning their necks. A gentle slope or a raised patio behind the seating area helps everyone in the back row see over the people in front.

Setting up for the best picture

Darkness matters more than anything else. In the summer, real darkness in Midland does not arrive until close to 9:00 PM, so plan your start time around dusk rather than a set hour. Porch lights, security lights, and pool lights all wash out the picture, so plan to switch off anything facing the screen.

Wind is the other West Texas factor. Position the screen with a fence, wall, or garage opening behind it whenever you can. You will also need a standard electrical outlet within reach of the setup area.

We deliver, set up, and pick up. If you want the whole evening handled, add chairs for the adults, a few cocktail tables for drinks, and a popcorn machine from our concessions lineup.

16-ft Movie Screen & Projector FAQ

How many people can watch a 16-foot screen?
It comfortably serves a large group, which is why it is our pick for school events, church nights, and big backyard parties. For smaller gatherings of roughly a dozen people, the 9-ft screen and projector is usually the better value.
What time should the movie start?
Plan around dusk, not the clock. In Midland during summer that generally means closer to 9:00 PM before the picture really looks its best. For parties with young kids, run the movie as the last activity of the evening.
What do I need to provide?
A flat setup area, a standard electrical outlet within reach, and as much darkness as you can manage. Turning off porch and security lights that face the screen makes a noticeable difference.
Can I rent it with other party equipment?
Yes. Movie nights pair well with chairs, cocktail tables, and a popcorn machine, and we can deliver all of it together. Call (432) 978-5285 and we will build the package.
