How character suits work

We rent the suit, and someone from your group wears it. That is the part most people do not expect, and it is also what makes it affordable compared with hiring a performer. An uncle, an older cousin, or a family friend usually volunteers happily once they see the reaction it gets.

The suits are one size fits all, so you do not need to give us measurements ahead of time. Six characters are available: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. Tell us which one you want when you book, and let us know a backup in case your first choice is already out that weekend.

Tips for the big entrance

Plan the appearance rather than letting it wander. Character suits land best as a short, high-energy moment: an entrance with the cake, a round of photos, and a group dance. Twenty to thirty minutes is plenty, and it keeps the surprise from wearing off.

Line up your photos in advance. Have one person designated to take pictures with each child, because once the character appears you will not get a second chance at that first reaction.

One practical note for West Texas: the suits are warm. If your party is in the middle of a summer afternoon, plan the character's appearance for a shaded spot or indoors, and give whoever is wearing it a cold drink and a break right afterward.
