The right size for a backyard

Most home movie nights do not need a giant screen, they need a good one at the right distance. The 9-foot screen fills a normal backyard nicely and reads clearly for a group of roughly a dozen guests seated together, which covers the majority of birthday parties, sleepovers, and family nights we deliver to.

It is also the affordable way to add a second activity to a party you are already hosting. A bounce house keeps the kids moving in the afternoon, and the screen gives the evening a natural place to settle down.

What to plan for

Wait for real darkness. Through the West Texas summer that means closer to 9:00 PM than 8:00, so build your schedule around dusk. Switch off porch lights, security lights, and anything else pointed toward the screen, since stray light washes out the picture faster than most people expect.

Set the screen where a fence, wall, or garage opening can break the wind, and make sure a standard outlet is within reach. Blankets and floor cushions work well for kids; if adults are watching too, add a few folding chairs from our tables and chairs lineup.

9-ft Movie Screen & Projector FAQ

Is the 9-ft screen big enough for a backyard party?
For most home parties, yes. It suits a group of roughly a dozen guests seated together. If you are expecting a crowd of thirty or more, or hosting a school or church event, step up to the 16-ft screen and projector.
What is the difference between this and the Mickey screen?
Both are 9-foot screens. The Mickey version has a themed frame that younger kids love, while this one is a standard screen. Choose based on the look you want.
How dark does it need to be?
Fully dark for the best picture. In summer that is usually close to 9:00 PM in Midland. Turning off porch and security lights facing the screen makes a real difference.
Do you set it up?
Yes. We deliver it, set it up, and come back for it afterward. You provide the flat spot and a standard electrical outlet within reach.
